Final

This is my final poster and then I placed it into context. I like it because it is quite simple and you can easily understand it. Even though it is simple I like how it is still detailed and interesting.

Layout

I then tried some different layouts for my poster. I made the images smaller and made more of them because I thought this made it less dull.  The poster I like the most is the middle one because it has the most variety of sizes and placements and this makes it more interesting than the others and I like how the logo blends in with the instruments.

Instruments

I first made my own instruments and made them all quite easily recognisable so that the audience can tell what they are.

I then tried a simple layout for these instruments and text but I thought it looked to simple and dull and there isn't enough instruments. I also thought that the layout with the text placed at the bottom isn't interesting enough aswell.

Music

I then thought about how I could show music into a poster and liked the idea of clean illustrations of instruments because it is easily understandable and it wouldn't over power the text on the poster.

I then researched images of instruments illustrations

I like these silhouettes because they are simple and you understand what they are instantly and you can easily understand that it is showing music by having theses. I think making my own version of these would be good for my outcome.

Typography

My first idea to show Music in my poster was by using topography but made up from music notes so then it becomes alot more interesting and eye-catching than just having the word music. The first thing I did was to make a variety of different musical notes.

This was my first idea using typography and I don't like it and I don't think that typography is the right way to go with this. The problem is that it isn't big enough and the word music gets overpowered by everything else.

Imagine a world without...

I expanded with the last idea and I listed all the different sounds that you would miss like:

-Music
-Laughter
-Birdsong
-Childs first words
-children playing
-crunching leaves
-weather sounds
-Morgan Freeman's voice

I then thought of a slogan that would work with this "Imagine a worlds without ... Imagine a world without P&S" I like this because you can easily tell what it is telling you and and it is also shows the company because Pitch & Sync put sounds/music to other things.

New Ideas

I didn't like any of them previous ideas so I did another brainstorm and worked around the company name. Being in sync is something working together. I thought about how to bring things together and what to use and thought about sewing, cement and glue along with other things but decided this wouldn't be a very clear ad campaign. I went back to things working together and thought about things that work well together that you wouldn't expect and thought of Garlic Bread, Chilli + Chocolate and Cheese Cake but I thought this wouldn't work. I went back to the brainstorm and thought of Pitch & Sync using music to make adverts better. I liked this and thought it could work with finding other things that are better with sound/music.

Brainstorm

I looked in to the company in more detail and found that they match up music to go with different advertisements and they hold the advert together using music. Some of my first ideas were to use cogs or sewing because Pitch & Sync sew together the product and advertisement using their music or use cogs because they need to fit perfectly to work like Pitch & Sync use the music to make the advert work perfect.

Other Adverts

I looked at few other music related adverts to get some inspiration going into my own designs.

This is a Heineken advert is trying to show that Heineken goes well with music and partying. The background colour used is the colours of the brand so it is easily recognised. The photography used is very clever and interesting and works very well at putting music and alcohol together.

First Look

At first look at all the available advertising briefs I particularly like the look of the Pitch & Sync brief because they look like a very interesting business and hopefully will give me many ideas to advertise around.
